As you may recall, I just recently purchased a home and was asking questions about remodling my basement.

So I can get moved in, I am having the main floor hardwood refinished. Then the major basement work will start.

So far, the pictures show the sanding and one coat of poly. Unfortunately I do not have any before pictures handy for a comparison.

They are all just getting poly with no stain. A lot of the color different is just because of the lighting.

Will post more as I can get them.

Some final pics.

This was done over three days with a total of 3 coats of oil based poly.

Now to get in gear on the basement.

They do look great!

Question for the folks out there. I have a bunch of hardwood to refinish in the new house. Does anyone anyone have experience using stripper to remove old finish (followed by light sanding and TSP cleanup) instead of using a drum sander.

I have used drum sander in the past and found it extremely difficult to get a really nice finish. Additionally, in my 100+ year old house I don't know how many times the floor has been sanded (almost certainly it has already exceeded the one-time allowable).

Where did you get that a solid hardwood floor was limited to a one time sanding and refinishing? That may be true for cheaper engineered wood solid wood can take many refinishings.

Now go ahead and scratch them so you'll get it out of the way. Nice floor.
