 | Ordered on 75/35 on Monday, still stuck at 35/35.... So I placed an order first thing Monday morning to upgrade from 35/35 to 75/35. My order status right now shows a full green bar and "Service Ready On: Tue, Jun 19".
To me this looks like my order is completed, but speed tests still show 40/35. I do have a BPON ONT but I figure they don't need to upgrade this to a GPON for the 75/35 plan, right? Anyone else's order (with existing service) take this long? And is the order status page a reliable indicator?
Thanks in advance..... |

|
 | Good point. I logged into myverizon.com, services overview shows 'FiOS Internet Speeds Up to 75 Mbps/35 Mbps'.
I also tried rebooting the router earlier today but that didn't help. I'll try again now, thanks....
I'm also chatting with Verizon support, although my hopes aren't high there. So far I've been chatting w/ them for 30 minutes and there has just been paragraph after paragraph about how much he plans to help me, with no specific help offered. |

|
 | I'm not using the Verizon router (I'm using the latest Apple Time Capsule). And I'm wired, not wireless....
Right now the tech support agent says he is 'refreshing the network for the speeds to get into effect for you'. Why am I skeptical? |

Thanks in advance..... If you have an ONT 610, you likely will not get 75/35 regardless. The 610 would die out at 29mbps upload speeds if you tried to go 35/35 and they changed them out for people that complained. I do remember the 610 would do 35 mbps down, but not sure what the download maxed out at. Mine was changed to a 612. I am on BPON, and not sure if I am going to go after 75/35. You may need an ONT upgrade regardless. But I have hear of some customers not being provisiones 100% for the correct speeds. |

 | reply to kes601 Ok this is weird. I don't know if it was tech support 'refreshing the network' or the fact that I was using speakeasy's speedtest, but I just checked speedtest.net and I'm getting:
83 down/32 up.
I just checked Speakeasy/Megapath again, and it's still showing only 38 down. So I guess Speakeasy's speedtest is crap.
Thanks for everyone's help. Off to make use of this crazy bandwidth.... |
|
 | reply to prisaz I have an ONT611. I'm now getting 83/30 consistently. I would love VZ to upgrade my ONT but I'm assuming I'd have to move up to the 150 tier for them to do that.
Of course now I'm irked about the upload speed (but I'm not complaining about the extra download speed!)..... |

kes601 join:2007-04-14 Virginia Beach, VA kudos:2 | reply to dckiwi Glad they got it straight for you. My 75/35 order has gone through, but I'm only hitting 60Mbps. I am wireless (Airport Extreme) across the house though, so that may be as good as I'm going to get unless I setup my extra Actiontec so I can hardwire my iMac. |
|
 | i had the same issue. i was on 50/20 and upped the service to 75/35 and i am getting awful speeds wirelessly and verizon support says to hook up an additional wireless n router to the current actiontec router to get better wireless speeds |

 | reply to dckiwi Same thing happened here ordered 6/19 AM get an email service will be activated 6/20 .... checked "service overview" still 35/35...maybe need to call tech support to have network refresh ? |

Weekend project is to split signal in my office and hook up the second Actiontec so I can go hardwired and hope my DVR signal doesn't drop too low |

Weekend project is to split signal in my office and hook up the second Actiontec so I can go hardwired and hope my DVR signal doesn't drop too low You should have plenty of headroom on the cable signal. The signal from my ONT goes through an eight way splitter. I can split that again with a two way splitter, and again with another two way splitter before going to a TiVo Elite which splits it four ways.. And the signal is still very strong. |
|
kes601 join:2007-04-14 Virginia Beach, VA kudos:2 | I used to have issues when I split the signal in this particular room, but I think I traced it down to the main cable in the attic being wound too tightly around the rafters, as I would lose certain QAMs even after removing the splitter. So, am hoping it will be ok now as the Moca stats currently show all STBs at over 220 signal level, including one that comes after 3 splits.
I did just run the wifi diagnostics in OS X and it shows a -67 signal level, so I am sure this is why I'm not getting full downloads.
I'll report back this weekend after I've done the swap. |

 | reply to jhapsoyy Just and update spoke to Tech Support sure thing my ONT cant handle the new speed...Tech will come to replace ONT and hopefully will get new router with rev i .... cross fingers! |

Although, he was on 35/35 before, so being on the same upload shouldn't require a new ONT, unless they ignored the problem previously. |
