Did you get a chance to finish the stairs yet? I was wondering how they turned out.

Not yet. That got pushed out until next year due to some other things getting priority. I am finishing up the insulation work though. I'll be finishing it up this weekend. I'm going to get the priming done next and call it for 2013 most likely but I might do some of the flooring/trim/baseboards over the Winter but we'll have to see how it goes.

The inspector made me install 1" foam board so now the switches are 3/4" inside the foam board. I'm pretty sure the foam board is flammable so I can't just use spacers to screw the switch and plate back on. Anyone have suggestions on code compliant outlet extensions for the boxes?

I seen those yesterday but wasn't sure on them. Would I just have to buy longer screws then the extension just gets sandwiched between the original outlet and the switch?

comes with screws, and the fins are supposed to be slightly over sized to keep it snug with the wall, so you might have to put a small foam piece above the box to keep it even.

Just use the included screws to mount the switch instead of the screws the come with the switch.

I had to use some on my wife's office when I put up beadboard. (poor man's wainscoting)

I'll pick a few up at lunch today. Worse case I can return them if they don't work.

Was browsing and found these. I think I'll try them instead since they are way cheaper.
