Uverse Internet activation question

I called over to Uverse support today b/c i had a couple of question. I'm getting my self install kit tomorrow.

I didnt ask for this but the guy ...his name was Matt.......told me when i activate my service to go to »lsreg.att.net

Is that right? B/c i've watched all the video tuturials online and other places about how to activate ur service and they all say to go to att.com/uverse or att.net/uverse

Or is that address he gave me just used to setup your username, password etc? I'm switching over from DSL (unfortunately b/c i'm moving and they told me i had to do Uverse). And i want to keep my current primary and secondary email address.

Matt

So then use that lsreg.att.net address he gave me or just be safe and do what the self install kit says?

Also when i setup my account over the phone the guy asked me for a security question then asked me for a 4 digit passcode. When i got my confirmation email yesterday saying my self install kit was mailed out it also said a separate mail was coming with my 4 digit passcode to use for activation.

Dont i just use the 4 digit passcode i gave the guy when he was setting up my account over the phone or is there a separate 4 digit code u get in the mail that's different from that?

The self install kits I've used have »uverseactivation.att.com or »isreg.att.net as the url for the registration page in addition the att registration webpage should appear automatically when you open a web browser

»att.net/uverse redirects to »lsreg.att.net/LightspeedRegWeb/ so you're ending up at the same place either way. See »web-sniffer.net/?url=http%3A%2F%···2Fuverse for details.

And yes, I believe the passcode they send you is the one you originally told them. It's just a confirmation of it. You'll need it pretty much anytime you want to access your account, as an added security measure.

Just after you type in the 4 digit pin, (you will type in the same one you gave over the phone) be sure to select the option to "use existing I'd." Type in your existing DSL email address and password, and when the registration is done all your email addresses, account balance, contact info, etc will seamlessly carry over.
The hard part is the downtime you may have while the line is being switched from DSL to Uverse branded DSL before your activation time.
