Re: Why can't Fairpoint provide steady service? Both DOCSIS Cable and DSL are capable of providing stable service. Reliability and customer satisfaction is largely a matter of how well the local network is designed, equipped, and maintained.
FairPoint is pretty spotty. Here in Milford service has been fine, a little better even then with Verizon. Other areas of New England have been horror stories.
