 | [GA] Telephone/Cable Modem Not DOCSIS 3 I am not getting the 35 mbps speed I should have with the Premiere package. I usually get 15-18 and the max ever is 24. I was surprised the modem is not DOCSIS 3.
I would appreciate advice on getting Cox to swap out to a DOCSIS 3 modem.
I am in Macon. I have the whole house DVR and Cox telephone. Equipment details are:

| reply to FrankP999 The modem you have is a combo phone Internet modem. Cox in mid GA was insisting that you must use this modem as of about two years ago, to the point that they would refuse to authorize an additional Doc Sys modem. On the other-hand, if you had existing Cox Internet service, using your own Doc Sys 3 modem, they would allow you to continue using it if you told them that you were not interested in using the "obsolete" ARRIS modem for Internet service, and they could forget providing phone service if that was the only alternative. |
