Re: New Tiers - The Real Speeds - Check before you updgrade
These are the speeds I'm getting from Speedtest.net. Although this was the best download. Usually it's around 155Mb/s and the highest upload I've seen is around 59Mb/s
On the Verizon Speed test I'll get just slightly under 70Mb/s(like 69.9x) |
|
 | reply to guppy_fish I'm signed up for 25/25 and getting 30/30 with an Ethernet connection and 20/18 wirelessly. I'm happy... |

 | reply to guppy_fish I upgraded to 75/35 and I'm getting 19/21. |
|
 | ....or 70/32 when wired.
I guess my old Actiontec MI424WR Rev C with it's 802.11g doesnt cut it. Pity Verizon didnt mention that when I ordered the upgrade. |

|
 | Tried to get them to replace the router, but they wont. So time to cancel the "upgrade". |

| You have a few options
1. Get the upgrade and tell them that your actiontec isn't working right. They will send you a replacement router. No promises that it will be a RevI. You might get a RevF
2. Have a tech come out and chances are they will give you a replacement RevI router |

| reply to guppy_fish Been on 25/25 Triple Play since switching from TWC this March with a bit of extra fluff, paying $107 mo. including taxes/fees for with "free" MR-DVR for life + free SD-STB, and 2 extra HD-STB, nothing extra - haven't seen the $2 extra per STB adjusted yet - a substantial saving of $55/mo. over TWC with only 2 HD-STB and no DVR at all.
Been hit with numerous emails to upgrade to 50/50 - getting consistently 31/25 now - started out at 31/20's or so before I optimized the cat5/coaxial setup - with Rev.I AT router.
Speed is addicting & tempting, to pull the extra 25+ upstream since we get 15+ devices (4STB + pc's/tablets/phones, etc.) but it will cost $15 extra when I priced it out vs. current discounts, and it will only be good for next 18 months (on 24 mo. contract) - I think we will pass and see what's being offered as we get closer to renewal time - who knows, maybe - bump to a higher speed & locked in another 24 month contract.
Speedtest dot net results showing a bit faster: 33/26 vs. VZ's own testing as below:
SendBufferSize set to [522720] running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 25.69Mb/s running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 30.22Mb/s

Although I'm really only concerned with faster upload speeds. |

I have all services so yes, TV, Inter and Phone now on DV...I was previously on the 50/20 plan. They first replaced the 610+ with a 612 bpon and today finally with a gpon from Alcatel/Lucent not sure of the model # id have to crack it open to see (its exterior model) |

 | Hey Jackarino
Thanks for the pics my friend. The NJ plans usually stay pretty close to the NY plans. Now I wonder will the price will drop if you have all 3 services included but thats a question for another day. Thanks Again |
