Re: Found an iPhone said by JohnInSJ: I suppose so, yeah - how else do you return found items to their owners? Taking it to the police or similar, I can understand. ATT sending the phone's owner to an unknown person I'll bet is not something they'd facilitate though. |

| reply to PhoenixDown said by PhoenixDown:A friend ended up losing their iphone and I think the only reason they were able to get it back is because they called me and gave me their mobile me password so I could lock the phone.. You sure that's the only reason? I'd bet most people would make an attempt to find owner. I think the people who'd try to keep it are the minority, the majority of people are decent and honest. Would anyone here keep a phone if they found it? Really? |

StacyFotoDoguePremium join:2001-11-02 New York, NY | reply to Rob We've lost iPhones more times than I care to count, in cabs, on rooftops, and even in a snowstorm. One time we lost a phone during a Fourth of July rooftop barbecue. It must've fallen between the slats of the deck because the following Spring, after the cable guy made a service call, the iPhone miraculously appeared on a bench... covered in bird crap.
The only time it wasn't returned when when my daughter accidentally left it on a plane in airplane mode. Some flight assistant insisted she leave the plane and then claimed no phone was found. Most people turn out to be much more honest than you might expect. |

Ok, go back and look at the link, none of them have anything to do with finding an iPhone and wanting to use it as their own. Just saying.

2 edits | reply to Rob I found one a few weeks ago. Carried it with me in case someone calls it. It's locked.
There's a "find my iphone" web site that gives instructions on finding the ID# or Serial# but that doesn't match what's on this 3G.
Looked through Craigslist and there's one girl who lost one across the street from where I found this one. I emailed her a question to help see if it was hers but her reply wasn't clear. When I re-emailed her, she never responded.
Don't know what to do with it now. I read I could wipe it and sell it but haven't looked into that. |
