[Speed] Comcast says my speed is fine - are they right?
I recently purchased a Motorola 6121 to replace the Comcast supplied RCA modem I'd had for 6-7 years.
I checked my speed through several speed tests and shaperprobe. It appears to be limited to 13Mbps/2Mbps. My bill says I have the performance tier. I think I should be getting at least 20Mbps/4Mbps.
I chatted online with a tech. She said my bootfile was wrong and she was going to load the correct one. Of course we got disconnected when she did. I power cycled everything and the speed remained the same. I called Comcast on the phone and the lady basically said everything looked fine. I tried resetting the modem to default settings. I also bypassed the router and the speed was the same. Is she correct? Shouldn't I be getting faster speeds?

You appear to be getting 12/2 mbps with no PowerBoost.
That could possibly be due to an incorrect config file, or caused by local Comcast network conditions. While PowerBoost is seen most of the time, it is not guaranteed -- History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
