xur17 join:2003-03-26 Cincinnati, OH | IPV6 Issues - Facebook and Engadget I currently have a ipv6 tunnel setup through tunnelbroker.net using my ddwrt router. I share this connection with 3 other roommates, and I haven't heard any complaints or had any issues yet. Yesterday in the afternoon, I started to notice that Facebook and Engadget (and some other ipv6 sites, but not all ipv6 sites) wouldn't load. They start trying to load the page, and just hang. Other sites such as google, etc that are via ipv6 load fine.
I manually found the ipv6 addresses for these sites, and used wget to try to access the sites to rule out dns issues. This also had the same issue (the sites wouldn't load). I ended up disabling the tunnel last night before my roommates got home, to prevent any issues. This morning I tried the tunnel again with similar results.
Any recommendations? This doesn't seem to be a tunnel configuration issue since some ipv6 sites load perfectly fine. Also, pinging the sites seems to work fine, but loading does not work. |

| It's possible the IPv4 endpoint you're using (or its datacenter, etc) is having a problem. I've used HE.net tunneling for a couple years and notice such downtime every few months, but never more than a minute or so. -- If you can't open it, you don't own it. |

| reply to xur17 I'm also having issues. What HE tunnel server are you on? I'm on tserv13.ash1. I can't access whatismyipv6.com, facebook.com, or engadget.com. The weird thing is, I can ping these sites just fine. Just can't get to them in a web browser. It's been happening since yesterday. I opened a ticket with HE about it earlier today and they haven't had a chance to respond yet.

Derek I am using 216.66.22.2. Is that the same as your's?
Edit: It is the same.
That sounds exactly like the issue I am having. I am guessing the issue is on Hurricane Electric's end since this is occurring for several sites. Let us know when you hear back from HE. |

TBH it kinda is acting like there is a MTU issue.

derekivey join:2006-03-30 Mechanicsburg, PA kudos:1 | I was thinking the same thing. I double checked my MTU and my pfSense interface is set to 1280. I also tried messing with my tunnel's MTU using their Advanced settings page. |
|
 | Im running a 1480 MTU as I have been doing.
I'm sure they get it taken care of soon, They have great support for being a free service. |
