Re: [MLB] Jamie Moyer

But he has won with that speed. He only had like a 87 mile a hour fastball in his prime. He really doesnt throw his fastball much. Somehow and i cant understand how he has been able to win throwing slow. Its just his style. His style and record just contradicts everything all of us know about baseball. I was saying he was done back in 2008 and yet he continues to go and continues to win.

If the offense keeps going like they have been they should be ok with the starter giving up 4-5 runs in 6 innings...

But you never know about that...

Now I wonder if the Jays could do a 4 man rotation, and have Carlos and maybe Jamie doing long relief. Jamie when the Jays are up or down by 8 runs, Carlos when it's close.

Doesn't say too much when you consider they are the ones that released Jamie....oh well. We'll see what happens.

I didn't realize the Moyer was actually cut from the Orioles before being picked up by the Jays. The announcers on NESNjust happened to mention that coming back from commercial.

They were probably thinking he might still be able to get somebody out. And he's left-handed. A left-handed pitcher will always get more looks/chances than a righty.

Moyer needs to give it up, though. Nobody's really interested anymore, and he's 49. He's had a very nice career.
No point in going hat-in-hand to every single team first. Read the handwriting on the wall, and get on with the rest of your life-- that part of your life which doesn't include standing on a mound in a baseball park.
Why insist on embarrassing yourself to the max before you walk out the door?

Being that R.A. Dickey is probably one of the top pitchers this season and you are trying to compare him to Moyer made me laugh.
