<description><![CDATA[CeeZee posted : To the best of my knowledge I didn't lose power last night. None of my devices that normally turn off at the drop of a hat were off this morning (e.g. Microwave, computer, espresso machine, alarm clock, etc.). But who knows, maybe it is now more sensitive than before. At this point, I'll just assume the power did flicker enough to cause an issue.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[nycdave posted : There is new IMG logic in 1.9.1.  If the box loses power, the red curtain screen will display when the STB is initially soft powered-on - it will display 'initial download in progress'.  It should not say anything about 'software update in progress'.  That screen was fixed Monday morning.<br><br>You should not be seeing the red curtain screen after a soft power cycle - just turning the box off and then back on.  You will see the red curtain screen if the box loses AC power for any reason, and if you do a STB reset via the IMG, etc.]]></description>

They hang, reboot, change, freeze, - you know it.  Some update.  I just wish Verizon would hire some geeks that know what they're doing to reprogram the guide.  This is awful.]]></description>

Hopefully Vz solved the issue and it won't happen any more!<br><br>I bet you it was something at their end which flagged certain STBs as not fully updated even though they were (I got 1.9.1 a while ago and had no problems until Fri) and that caused the erroneous "software update" mseeage.<br><br>Gerry]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[flashcore posted : Seeing as I have had the IMG update for awhile now and this did not start until last week the real question becomes why is this just starting now, this does not seem like an IMG issue, this seems like something else outside of the IMG was changed and they have yet to bother to undo that change.<br><br>EDIT: To add to the above, if this is an IMG bug its time they roll back the IMG to a working version. This crap is unacceptable, when I turn on my TV I want to see the TV not the Please Wait crap that takes over a minute to finish whatever crap its doing in the background.]]></description>

I had to power down one of my DVRs because it crashed with one of these "software update" sessions.<br><br>I'm sure it's just a coincidence (wink) that this stuff happens the same week there's a change in terms of service where we all (allegedly) agree not sue VZ in real court, but take all disputes to arbitration or small claims court.
