Weirdly enough, yes, I am having exactly the same problem. lynx, telnet, ssh, aim and other services work. But nothing works right from my windows/ie environment. I was going nuts thinking something had gotten hosed in my nat/firewall configuration. I still don't understand what the problem is. The symptoms don't make sense. I wouldn't believe someone who told me they'd seen what I'm seeing.
I had a similar problem soon after getting DSL. I have 4 machines on a home network (WINme) and the clients would only get AIM or MS Mess but no browser. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling all the network drivers on all the machines and suddenly everthing worked. I think the network cards in my host got crossed up. Who knows?
