 | [VA] Horrible connection the past few weeks Sorry it's all jumbled. Not sure how you guys do a clean cut-n-paste. It looks like my upstream is sucking again. One of them is a zero and the others are 51. I'm basically losing connection and/or the upstream fails. Rebooting the modem does nothing and calling support to have them tell me to reboot my modem.... solves nothing. Suggestions? Call a higher level tech support and getting someone out here seems my obvious choice lol. My phone is completely dead and recharging so I have to wait till tomorrow I guess... :P

| Yes the one upstream channel showing no signal, and my guessing would be its the source of your problem. Need to figure out whats going on with that one upstream channel. Your upstream power level are pushing close to max at 51db, but I still see no reason why the one channel isn't syncing up like it should. |

 | Right now:
Power Level 42 dBmV 39 dBmV 40 dBmV 43 dBmV
I know if I call them right now, they'll say everything is fine. I'm starting to think they have to many people on a node and it's booting me off when it gets too busy like 5pm+ |

I know if I call them right now, they'll say everything is fine. I'm starting to think they have to many people on a node and it's booting me off when it gets too busy like 5pm+ What does the Ranging Status say currently for all 4 upstream channels? I seen yesterday post showed one channel without a signal level, but also notice it showed 3 of the 4 channels with Ranging Status Aborted. Which means you were only connected to one upstream channel, modem having issue connecting to the other 3 upstream channels.
Have you tried going to the configuration page within the modem, hitting the reset to defaults button, then hitting the restart cable modem button? See if the modem will lock onto all the channels properly. |

 | reply to nineinchnerd I have also been having problems within the last couple of weeks. My otherwise stable connection has been frequently disconnecting. My issues started when they deployed upstream channel bonding in my area. Is there a newer modem firmware I should be running that might help?

As CoxTech1 said your upstream power levels are low, and could be a problem. I am sure he also looked over other signal levels and seen things that don't look good. I hope, and pray your dealing with a local issue to you. So it would be good to have a tech out to troubleshoot everything home side with cabling, and such. |
|
 | The last time a tech came out, he rearranged the lines, splitters, etc. and I don't remember what he said word for word, but something about the gain being to high or low.. or something similar to that. There was too much distortion and he gave me a choice of what I wanted for a better signal, better internet or better tv, and the gain would be fixed later by another tech. Again, that isn't word for word, I'm working off my memory from months ago. I have to figure since the kids are out of school now, there's more people on the net.
Here is my current status as I type this. It's not so bad when I get home from work. Later in the evening, it goes to hell.

 | I'll reset the modem to defaults a little bit later after I finish up the important stuff. I don't want to screw myself in case I can't get back on lol. |

Ok well the picking better tv or internet signal sounds more like a lame excuse to me. I understand there is always differences in signals based on setup, and location. Still your signal levels need to be better, and somethings not right. Looking at the last two modem stats you posted, there is a 5-9db change in power level on the upstream. That is a problem that needs to be resolved asap imo. You might want to send CoxTech1 a PM on here with your modems mac address. Let him over look signal levels and such from his end, and suggest what he thinks should be done. He works local to our market also. |
