Re: Official 2012 CFL Thread

I switched it on when it was 35-18 and figured it was over with 7 minutes left.

What a wild ending..........2 Sask receivers had the game in their hands late and in OT,Getzlaf drops it in the end zone.........ouch.

Bloody Lions lose another through their own fault..........going in for a TD and Simon bobbles the ball...........Esks intercept and run 110 yds for a freaking td.

That whole play was crap from the moment the ball was snapped.
Geez, it was 1st down and goal.....RUN THE BALL FROM THERE!

I was surprised that the Eskimos were even in a position to win the game because their quarterbacking this year has not been the best.

It looks like the Eskimo wants to rely on their defense and special teams for field position. Then emphasize the run and short passes while keeping the longer passing attempts to a minimum. This also moves the clock which gives the other team's offense fewer chances. One could either look at this as saying that the Eskimo deep receivers were just not open, or that the coaching staff does not trust Jyles accuracy once you go too far down field.

Just what the Ti-Cats needed. Their young speed versus the slow old guys who are not good on defense or special teams. Game was a route from almost the beginning and never in doubt.

Since all but 2 games so far have been won by the home team, it was reasonable to expect the Bombers to finally win a game since their first 4 games were on the road.

What was surprising was that the play that woke up the crowd was when their own punt got blocked but was recovered at advanced.

Eskimos actually were in a position to win the game. Jyles led them to within field goal range but fumbled the ball away as he tried to get a few extra yards.

After the 1st quarter, you would have thought tonight's game was going to be in the the 40's for both teams. Whether it was better defense or worse offense, things slowed down dramatically afterwards. Home team Als could not even find a way to squeak out a win. That makes it 3 for the road teams this year.

I hope the Argonauts make the Grey Cup finals, and, considering the state of the eastern Conference, they just might. Montreal is looking like a shadow of the past years.

Ya surprisingly it could be a tossup in both divisions this year........Als aren't playing very well and the West is a crapshoot.

Lions need a win tonight in Calgary.

Argos would be my #2nd in the East. Ti-Cats would be my #1 right now.

This is the 2nd week in the row where I thought the Riders are on their way to showing that they are the best in the CFL. Yet, the same thing happens. They blow a big lead in the 4th quarter and lose the game. Hard to figure out how this happens for a second time in 2 weeks.

That was a good game......typical CFL........no lead is safe.

Makes the West tighter now.

Boy that was one old fashioned spanking given to Calgary.

Just watched the game. It was still a one possession game in the 2nd half. Then the game slipped away after the failed fake punt & then later the fumble by Forzani. That being said, the Lions did take advantage of the turnovers and controlled the game from that point on which is the opposite of what happened to the Riders.

Bomber offense looked weak at home tonight against the Als. Nothing much until garbage time against the slow old guys. Plus, their own mistakes (face mask penalties, fumble on a kickoff, and blown coverage in the secondary) certainly did not help matters.

Result of the game today was primarily the result of the Argo's offense line being ineffective against the Lions. Game was not one-sided because the Argo's defense got to the ball quickly and made the tackle. Plus, there seemed to be a flag thrown on almost every play which slowed down any momentum the teams might have had.

Bad reffing and good D made it close till Lulay struck.

CFL refs have to be the worse of any league............blind as bats.

So much for the much-anticipated Burris-Glen matchup as neither did anything special. I guess Cornish and the offensive line madeup after he complained about them via social media. This game makes it 6 in a row that the road team has won.

Esks beat the Riders in a good game,on a last minute interception........West is getting close again.

quote:
There was a long delay early in the third quarter after a collision between Edmonton defensive back Ronnie Prude and Saskatchewan receiver Terence Jeffers-Harris. Prude was taken off the field on a stretcher after suffering what appeared to be a neck injury on the play.
no idea how he's doing now?
