Re: BBC World News cropped For a while now all the major OTAs (KCBS, KNBC, KABC, etc) have had the same problem. I know AFD is supposed to fix this but I'm guessing providers have figured 16:9 is now standard so why bother. Besides, from what I've seen AFD has never really been taken seriously. IMHO there are only two real alternatives.
1) Eliminate all SD feeds and make all STBs HD ready.
2) Add a picture format feature (the way the 2500s got a Dolby dynamic range control) and have all SDs from HD sources 16:9.
