A couple trees here along the coast are changing. Inland, especially moutnains, are pretty good. I don't have the time to make that drive, but things are changing fast on all fronts! Great colors are comming very soon in Boothbay.

Bright foliage expected this season

MONTPELIER, Vt. — An optimistic forecast has inn owners expecting brisk business when leaf peepers visit the Northefall, with some hoping to recoup losses from last year after images of Tropical Storm Irene swallowing up bridges and roads scared visitors away from Vermont and other affected areas.

The Woodstock Inn & Resort had to cancel reservations for all of September last year due to flood damage. After multimillion-dollar renovations, it's quickly filling up for the five-week season and nearly booked for Columbus Day weekend.

"There's almost pent-up demand from people that missed out last year and they're very excited to be here this year," said Courtney Lowe, the inn's marketing director.

This year, visitors should see the show they're expecting.

"We've had a nice dry, hot summer," said Maine's foliage spokeswoman, Gale Ross. "We're setting ourselves up for an ideal foliage season."

The bulk of Maine's trees will turn color within the next few weeks.

I think things should probably be good for foliage this NEXT weekend. There is color now, but not enough to get excited about.

Yea, I know. I haven't posted photos yet. But umm, I'm not seeing a lot of others posting any foliage! capecoddah and vaxvms being the exception. But.....

Leaves are still mostly green down here.

A couple red leaves on the blueberry bushes, otherwise green.

Drive to Plymouth. Missed a shot of the fried clam platter.
