| reply to rebmem The modem can be used by 3rd party ISP customers as we have proven that with a Teksavvy user...his router behind the Sagemcom (bridge) and no problem whatsoever. The Sagemcom tries to take the user to the "walled garden" and that is where it will fail with a 3rd party user ID. Otherwise it works fine on a Teksavvy service line. -- My Canada includes Quebec. Disclaimer: If I express an opinion, it is my own opinion, not that of Bell or its related companies. |

And it happens to me about once every 3-4 weeks, so not sure if the cause is same as in the other post. I'll say it again, I had the same problem... Could be in the same week, could be in the same day... not always related to torrents. |

The routing of normal internet traffic could be different from the routing of the IPTV traffic with respect to the DPI devices. Perhaps they are still affecting the "normal" traffic even though the restrictions have been turned off. Just a hunch. It's the same routing for Internet. Internet is still on the same VLAN with or without IPTV is active. The only difference is the profile, which has more noise impulse setting on IPTV profiles, just like maintenance profiles. |

 | reply to cn008 Sounds to me like Bell is traffic shaping certain areas and Mississauga is always number one or number two on the list. London, Ottawa and Mississauga are the big three kingpins. |

 | reply to cn008 Does changing maintenance profile really fix this issue? Is there a way we could see our current profile? I have they same problem and getting annoyed. |

 | reply to kovy I found more info on the maintainance profile...what it does is set your speed to a maximum of 40Mbps(down) and the modem will sync at whatever rate it feels comfortable at. So if your line can only sustain 19Mbps (due to distance, line issues) then it will stay there thus you get stability. However, the maintainance profile is considered a temp fix for troubleshooting and if Bell comes across someone on this profile they try to get them back to where they were before.(Eagle) |

In fact there's no 40Mbps profile... |
