[TV] TV installed today, Explorer 8300HD goes black randomly

Had Brighthouse TV and Internet installed and activated today. Throughout the day, the cable would go black. Still able to access guide, favorites, and other settings on the box. But no digital channels will show. However, some of the basic 1-13 channels will show.

I basically have to cut the power and let it reboot for it to come back.

There are no interruptions in internet or internet speed at all.

This looks like the same exact problem as this thread here: »Channels go black... requires a reboot to get them back???

What should I do? Anything I should know before I call and maybe get a tech out here? Any help would be great.

Edit: Located in the East Orlando, Waterford Area

I need to get a tech out there. Please open a direct forums thread and include your modem MAC address and/or WAN IP (not the 192.x.x.x).

We don't discuss what the tech does on others accounts in a public forum If you are having a similar issue I would be happy to get a tech out in your case as well. You will need to open a direct forums thread with the usual information.

so you won't say if he replaced a DVR or fixed external wiring or fixed internal wiring or anything that would help others?

Maybe the OP will be more helpful to others?

No because the tech doesn't even know. The box is bad, needs to be replaced and it goes in for repair. Not sure why it really matters anyway because you can't fix the box or situations like this. Thats why we offer free service calls...there are no consumer fixable things with these devices. If you are having the problems lets get it taken care of. We also definately don't want you "fixing" your own wiring. There's a reason why our techs have the special equipment they do and any changes, fixes, cable swaps...whatever can impact your service on other outlets so it's important to just let us do what we do and not worry about it. You messing around with it does nothing but almost ensure that a tech will eventually be needed.
