Re: [Info] Vlan Membership Policy Server Configuration I believe that's only for local ports on a switch. it was the only thing that kept catOS around for a longtime and now has been slowly ported to certain switches and IOS. It's designed for identifying things like a Cisco Phone, Nortel Phone, Avaya Phone, Siemens Phones, etc. So a certain VoIP phone is plugged in, it would belong to a specific vlan so that it could communicate with its Servers. It's sometimes used for certain situations where, as an example, Apple products can be separated into a separate Vlan as opposed to PCs. for the marketing team when they travel where they need to access their shared data thru acls... |
