| reply to dakewe If you would indulge those of us that are drooling and do some sustained downloads from a known fast source and do the same with the upload speeds.
I'd really like to know if the new upgrade has started to hit and what it is after Powerboost runs out. (I'm really hoping the speeds will be 55/15 as Extreme 50 is now, if not better by the time it gets to me.) |
|
 | I'm still on generic Blast speeds. I used to consistently pull 3.1MB/s after powerboost ran down, but lately things have been constantly fluctuating between 3.2 and 3.8. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come. |
|
 | I think I'm pulling 4.5MB/s Is that normal? |
|
 | 4.5 mb/s = 36mbps
Thats what you will pull at best on Blast currently |
|
 | yeah thats what I figured. cant wait to get 50. |

Thats what you will pull at best on Blast currently No where "currently" does Blast have that actual sustained download speed... |

| Personally I'm not rebooting my modem since one out of the three upstream channels has been having issues (T4 errors) for 2 weeks now. It doesn't appear to affect speeds or latency (since there's still 2 good channels), but it does cause the modem to take much longer to lock than normal.

Thats what you will pull at best on Blast currently No where "currently" does Blast have that actual sustained download speed... He didn't mention anything about sustained speeds, only that 36 Mbps is the best speed you'll see. During the Powerboost window I've seen speeds of 36 Mbps (or higher) with Blast.
Speaking of Powerboost, there is no Powerboost with the 50 Mbps or above Tiers so I'm assuming that Blast will no longer have Powerboost after the upgrade. Not that it really will be needed. -- The Comcast Disney Avatar has been retired. |

 | The question is now, how many more posts will discuss this subject before actual implementation of the new speed tiers? |

1 edit | Well, got home tonight and noticed my modem dropped connection to the router!

 | I'm still waiting for tangible proof that this is really happening, like a Youtube video of a tv or radio commercial announcing it, or a Comcast website. |
