Re: Mozilla brings knife to gun fight, and Firefox OS can't win My immediate question would be: how would the applications be composed? Would applications literally be a collection of HTML5/CSS/JS that are loaded into Firefox from the file system or would it be served from some pseudo-web-server process?
I really like the sound of it. It's like a push back against native applications and would also improve web on the mobile. Creating awesome/native looking applications on the Mozilla OS is benefiting the developer because it should look good on iOS and Android too, providing they're all standards compliant.
I also like the opportunity for the Firefox OS to push towards some standardized APIs that are useful for touchscreens, smartphones and tablets. -- Anticipating the impossible. |

 | reply to Name Game If I can't get the apps I want to run- most of which work offline - only data needed to download and no browser involved, then I wouldn't be interested. I don't/won't use FF anyway on Android.
I changed to Android from Symbian for this reason. |
