Thank you for a non-sequita strawman statement. My statement is was that just because the show is being supported by commercials, that has nothing to do with a responsibility on my part to actually watch them. I can go raid the fridge while they play (if I am watching in real time) or fast foreword past them if watching a recording. Do you agree with this ability or do you claim that the sponsor has paid for me to be tied down while watching the show with my eyes held open (like in the brainwashing scene in the "Clockwork Orange" movie)? Also what is the difference between me manually fast forwarding past the commercial and having it automatically done for me by the Hopper DVR? The result is the same - I do not see it. The function of the commercial is to attempt to deliver it to eyeballs NOT to force the eyeballs to see it. It is the supposed function of ratings to count the eyeballs that POTENTIALLY have a chance to view the commercial. There is nothing in the payment that says the commercial has actually be seen by the viewer. |
