[HD] Setting TV Resolution on RNG200 N

Hey all-
New customer as of this week. Got set up with Anyroom DVR. On my main box (RNG 200N) - is there a way to set up the TV resolution and 4:3 override via the guide? Or only via the Power Off, Hit Menu and bring up the diagnostic screen?

I used this menu to do it initially on Monday, but every time when I shut my TV and STB down, it resets back to 720p and I have to reset the resolutions every time I turn it back on.

With FIOS, you could set it right there via the guide menu.

Are you using an HDMI connection, and passing it through a receiver? I think the RNG200 is just a renamed DCX-3400. Motorola's are hyper-sensitive to HDMI handshaking issues and do not like passing through a receiver.

So I don't know what else to do.

Every single time the RNG turns on, it erases all of my settings and reverts back to 720 / 480i for resolution.

This is getting very frustrating. I've rebooted, pulled out the HDMI cable, reset it...etc....

Any other thoughts on what could be causing this?

(this is presuming you have a Moto type DVR...)

Just leave the DVR on...you do know the hard drive runs 24/7 either way, so what's the point in shutting it off? Most users I know never turn them off & they seem to have fewer issues doing this...

Dishrich-
Thanks. While I hate not solving the actual issue, I did decide to edit my Harmony remote to no longer toggle on/off the STB during the "Watch TV" activity.

That should solve it for now...
