and people changed channels if the ad was intrusive, repetitive, embarrassing, loud, obnoxious, etc. if with one button all the ads are removed based on the first second of the first ad, the second or later ad that is soft, sexy, interesting, intriguing, etc. never gets seen.
You can see how dramatically this changes the financial equation.
I wouldn't claim thats illegal, as I said this is really a contract matter with rebroadcasters, but it will certainly cause a lot of turmoil in the content production end
