Fibe 25 upload speed decreased after installHello,
I had fibe 25 installed on June 2nd, 2012 and after the technician left, I was getting a speed test from the bell website and others of 25.25 mbps download and 7.32 mbps upload. He installed a dsl splitter and had to connect my line back in the maintenance room. After a day, I noticed my IP would change several times a day but I still had the same results from a speed test. After a week, the upload speed was 3.34 mbps and download still at 25.20 mbps. I called bell and a tech tried to change some settings with the modem and after about 5-6 restarts, he put back the original settings. He said that it was pretty good given the distance which is 700 meters from the central. I argued that it was double after the install and they advertise 10 megabits.
They decided to send a tech to my apartment the same day. He performed a line test and said 3 is the highest I could get for upload. I explained the situation and he said the line would need to be upgraded and would be good for fibe tv in the future. He said that there is probably static that causes a fluctuation in speed. However, I never see anything over 3.5 mbps upload. He played around with the dsl splitter and also said he would switch a wire across the street in the panel and said I was on pair 14 and that there is another pair available. I haven't heard back since and my speed has remained at 3.12-3.56 mbps upload ever since. The download speed is always 25 mbps and my IP stays the same. I've restarted, reset and changed the phone line on the modem with no effect. I now run the modem (Sagemcom 2864) in bridged mode and this does not effect the connection speed and everything is stable.
I see a mention of changing profiles to v26944-26944_8128-1600_82412 in other forums. Can someone shed some light into why I was getting good speeds and after a week half the speed. I got this connection for the 10 mbps upload.
Here is some line status details from the modem:

Kinda off topic but how are you getting line stats from the sagemcom 2864? |

Sounds like static on the line like he said. Call them back to try another pair. 700 meters is kind of far but you should still be able to get 10Mbps upload. I'm not sure why you are on profile 8a? Most if us with Stingers are 12a. |

The Sagemcom is accessible via telnet if you enable it in the config via http manually.
Every time you call Bell it's like a lottery, most times you don't get someone experienced and get the run around. I have to start from zero explaining this to them.
At work there is a fibe connection and it's on 12a. I was curious about that too. |

How do you enable telnet on the Sagemcom via http manually? |

In this thread: » [Internet] Cellpipe 7130 line statsJave says he has a similar issue where he called and bell adjusted the line rate on their end. I have a cellpipe modem also as well as the Sagemcom. The cellpipe gets about the same speeds. Could my issue be something like this? |

Enabled the telnet and can connect but which command gets me my line stats? |

I think there was two ways
1) on the first telnet screen you should be able to type sysutil xdslmon (this may be more useful to OP since it shows estimated attainable upload rate too)
2) type system shell vdsl enter password: superikanos (turns out to use the default chipset pw) hit 11 to Request Extended Port Status ctrl^c to exit
PS if anyone from Bell's management reads this. Next time you spend millions for a custom product you should request these self-diagnostics are included in the web GUI instead of making the little guy jump through hoops to get them. I saw other ISPs using Sagem with much more elaborate options in the GUI. It's a bit ridiculous why you would exclude something so simple with no harm. |

FTTH does not use the dsl modem, it is straight ethernet. |

Here is what I get with the xdslmon:
# sysutil xdslmon

I posted in the direct forum and someone said they changed some settings on my profile. Seems a bit worse now comparing the line stats:

@badabingo What xtlee said, those tools are just for DSL.
@xtlee It looks like he just added interleave. Did Bell say they will try another pair? |

They said thy could open another ticket with the Test Center. |

The same thing happened to me when my profile got upgraded. The test centre was totally useless in addressing the matter claiming that the load occupancy on my line was over 100%. They said that they tried to find a spare 7330 to upgrade the o-slam but none was available. I was then advised to call the business office for a service discount but instead I called a tech I know and he got me back over 10 mbps. I don't know what he did since I wasn't around when he came over. However, I don't think you can get 10 mbps upload at 700 m. I'm at 400m and I was told that I was pretty well at the limit. |

So here is an update. I went to the direct forum and they setup an appoint for a tech to come last Friday but nobody showed up. I noticed my connection had been reset but was the same spped. An appointment was rescheduled for tonight. I noticed my connection was reset again today but this time I get 25.56 down and 7.12 up. So I'm back to the way it was. Not sure if the tech will show.
Here are the line stats now:

I see the atainable rate is 10 mbps for the upload now. I get 7 but just wondering if 10 is possible since the line rate says it is:

Hmm, finally a way to see some details on the line. For posterity, here's what my not-so-spectacular 25/3.6 line shows:
