 | reply to OZO said by OZO:Of course they will. Now everyone wants to offer their own "safety net" to track down users. That's true, ISP can see customer's traffic. But not all customers use ISP's DNS servers (I, for example, don't). And now, with offering the "safety net" (matter of a simple change in routing tables to redirect all DNS requests to their DNS servers) ISP can catch all of them too...[ Unless you use a VPN, or use a tunneled encrypted DNS, your ISP knows anyway what DNS you are using if you do not use theirs. DNSCrypt is a good start, I wish more DNS providers offered it; »www.opendns.com/technology/dnscrypt/
For me, I don't run Windoze so I just use a VPN 99% of the time, but my routers are pointed to a secure offshore DNS serve in case I am not on my VPN. I don't use any service whatsoever from my ISP because quite frankly - they are untrustworthy. |
