A $25,000 digital image frame (My car display has wallpaper)

I just got a new car which has a nice display in the center console. The first thing it said was "Import wallpaper." Yup, I can upload wallpaper via the USB port.

It takes BMP or JPG format, 1920 x 936 max. So, the first thing that came to mind was to match the complexity of the driver side dashboard. It's almost as complicated as an airplane cockpit. So...

Airplane instrument cluster, 1404 x 936. I had to experiment with the brightness, as I needed to match the levels of the rest of the console. The unused area (to fill 1920 x 936) is black, so the borders are invisible.

I can't wait until my friends try to adjust the settings.

That's cool!

Now you can upload your CE's to there, too!

Give me a day or 2. The car's clock and compass appear in the bottom left and right corners, which will need to be worked into this somehow.

DTS - Good idea, The car only lets me upload 3 images.

Is it a Honda? My 2012 CRV has that feature also.

Cool! This is also a 2012 CR-V. I could have used my Nikon D-60 and tweaked these photos to perfection, but my HTC Inspire cellphone was too darn convenient. I just stopped down the exposure (Camera360 app).

First, here's what the driver and passengers will see. This is inside my garage.

Console View

Next, the wallpaper with the compass and time overlaid on top. This is what I see while driving.

Wallpaper

Finally, a standard display for comparison.

Standard display

We'll have to work with the display. Or, make the display information part of the wallpaper design...

BTW - I retitled the thread.

Either your attitude indicator or your turn indicator is broken. And you may need to apply some right rudder.

I know you meant altitude indicator but I rather like the idea of an attitude indicator. That could be interesting.

I think the gyro is broken, take a look at the vertical speed.

KittyMom - The top-center instrument is indeed an attitude indicator, check the 2nd instrument under "Flight Instruments" in jjoshua's wikipedia reference. The one to the right is the altitude.

That display is missing a few features. I have some ideas...

That's pretty wild and I learned something new. I always thought of "attitude adjustments" as happy hour.

OK, here's my first idea. Now you see what I'm thinking.

This needs some work. I need to upload it to the car and adjust. Done in GIMP.
