[OOL] Custom cable modem with TV signal

OK, so I have a cable box in my room, with a working TV signal. My question is, if I buy any cable modem (like one from RadioShack, or something), and plug in my TV coax into the cable modem, will I still get a working internet signal?

You will have to pay an additional $44.95 per month, whether you use your own modem or a free one from Cablevision.

The reason you pay the extra $44.95 is you are having two Internet uplinks from two separate modems in one household.

That makes it a somewhat more logical question. But as others said, you have to pay for another "connection".

You will get a walled garden page telling you ,you need to register your modem and will be another 45 a month

If there is another existing Optimum modem in your house...can't you use a router?
