 | [Homephone] Another increase! Hi there,
Be careful you guys, there is another increase of home phone again this month. My family got a hit of another 2.77$ + tax more. The funny part is, I check every bill, but I can't see any advance warning that they have increase in price of services, so CHECK YOUR BILL!
I'm planing to switch out of Bell because I'm getting tired of this increases, this is like the 4th increase in less then a year...
Problem is, Bell has issue a "stop sell" for their competition, which means I can't switch out. I'm totally screwed...

 | I think that depends on who you're porting to.
I ported mine from Bell to Primus TBB in June. Had no issues whatsoever. |

| reply to inferno_gn What is the base price nowadays? I'd like to update my comparison spreadsheet, but I've been gone from Bell for a couple years now. When I left, it was nearing $30+911fee+touch tone fee. Base= no frills active line+charges you cannot stop, not including LD stuff, or rentals, or answering service, or multi-product/volume rebates. -- ~ Project Hope ~ |

Base price: Videotron: $23 without American networks. Bell: $24 with American networks.
Time shifting: Videotron: $3 for American networks, $3 for Canadian networks (both only available in SD) Bell: $3 for both in HD
À la carte: Videotron: $20 for 10 Bell: $15 for 15 (and you don't have to use any of these for American networks).
SuperStations: Videotron: $6 in SD only. Bell: have to take TMN
TMN: Videotron: $16, 2 HD channels Bell: $13 (includes Superstations, MPIX, AMC, TCM, and Peachtree): 10 HD channels.
SuperEcran: Videotron: $14: 2 HD channels Bell: $13: 2 HD channels (4 HD channels soon)
Your other alternatives are Shaw Direct, Colba IPTV (not much in HD), Acanac IPTV (available very soon), Bluskyhdtv (available 2013).
Good luck! The guy is talking about phones and your talking about TV, what the...? |

|
 | reply to inferno_gn Port your Bell home number to Mobilicity or Wind or voip.ms for a month. Then port to Teksavvy if you want POTS.
Check with all the firms above to make sure than you can port in/out. |

 | What are stop sells? |
|
 | reply to inferno_gn Hi there,
Not really, I read that if it's a Bell number, they won't port you to a Bell reseller.
Stop sell bascially Bell won't allow porting to another provider...

Ju Leon... From what I heard from teksavvy... it's them who put on stop to it, not Bell. |

 | reply to inferno_gn Hi there,
Actually, it's Bell won't allow to port out to Teksavvy. Even they did a request, Bell reject doing so.

Ju Leon... Really... care to explain why TSI Andre said this "We are the ones that placed the stop-sell, not Bell." in this topic »C'mon TekSavvy - Bring back your POTS offering |

| I've had Videotron home phone pretty much since the service was offered and was tired of Bell just making up reasons to increase. I have never had a problem whatsoever.
It is still cheaper even if you have no other services with them
You can port your number and it will work with home alarm systems (I would check with your company if you have one first) |

 | reply to inferno_gn Hi there,
Blah, it's ok, I switch to Teksavvy Home Phone now, solve that problem. Goodbye Bell... Don't bother contacting us again...
