General use.

Since we don't know anything else, and 'high power low-profile' isn't really a valid sentence, anything that fits in the case will work.

I have Antec VP-450 PSU. The video card would be used for watching HD videos.

Your psu is more than enough for a general use video card, but you may not want to get the cheapest card. I personally would at least spend $50, but there are cheaper cards, a $50 card is generally comparable to the onboard intel gpus these days.

An example would be the nvidia 520, or amd 6450.

Thanks BilzenZeus. nvidia 520 will do. I just want to take the load off RAM, and CPU.

Don't fool yourself, most hd processing is done on the cpu, so if that's really your bottleneck changing the video card might not help.

True. But it would not be as much load as onboard, and i think i will get a better video quality.

Is this to go with the Athlon II you just picked up and declared to be the best HTPC CPU ever?

»[My Review] AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz

If there is a bottleneck the GPU is unlikely to help much. Just saying.

Which integrated chipset are you presently using?
Or you can give the motherboard brand and model and I will look it up.

Here is a fanless xfx low profile 6450:

Here is a fanless gigabyte geforce 520

Here is a zotac 520 with a fan that is only $25 after rebate:

Only get the zotac if you are sure you are going after the rebate. Otherwise get one of the others. Take the time to click the rebate link on that page and download the rebate form, make sure you meet all the requirements and will get it in on time, and follow the instructions exactly.

All these cards have hdmi.
