Scavenger Hunt #186 - - 7/17 through 7/31 2012

Thanks to EGeezer for selecting my entry. I got lucky with that shot.

For this hunt, I choose eating establishments. Have fun and bon appetit!

The standard rules:

• Photos must be taken during the hunt time frame. No archived photos allowed.
• You may post as many entries as you wish, no larger than 1024 pixels on the longest side.
• The winner will host the next hunt.
• This hunt runs through July 31, 2012.
• Have fun!

The place that actually came to mind was a diner in Kinnelon NJ that was closed down/shutdown/raided, maybe 20+ yrs ago.. After it got closed down, looking in the windows was kinda weird...the ketchup bottles were still on the tables after a month. Had to wonder what other science projects were hangin out in there.

Only 5 more hours to get your entries in, or we have an uncontested winner .

We don't have an uncontested winner. What we have is the same dilemma that occurred when I hosted a short time ago. There just is nobody posting in this thread so as to choose someone new or semi-new. I am going to suggest that this thread be put in mothballs for a while unless you and/or anyone else has some huge objection for which I would like to hear some good reasons.

Actually that would have been 29 more hours from the time of the quoted post or just less than 24 hours from now woudl it not be?

I keep my hands on the fork instead of the camera. Plan on getting the next bite.

I don't eat out often enough to have done this one...

I like the Scavenger Hunt and I would be happy to manage it and keep it going...

I agree, I really like the scavenger hunt and do not want to see it go away. We have already lost our contest that ran for so long.

I haven't participated as much as I would have liked to lately because my wife has just had open heart surgery and that has taken up most of my time recently. She is recovering now, so hopefully my photo partner and I will be back out shooting again soon.

Its fun for me as well. I just started looking here because I just got a new DSLR and found this thread. I've only been here long enough to be in a couple, but it's fun.

Managing it isn't a problem, or it hasn't been up to now. The one that has been the host picked the winner, who in turn picked the next topic, and on and on. There really hasn't been management for this thread. 3 people cannot make this thread viable, I am afraid, unless the format is going to be changed so as to pick someone who isn't participating as a host, and even with that, finding someone who wants to host and then pick a winner and so on still brings up the same problem that has been evident for months. We just don't have an active enough group to make this thread over the hump, I am afraid...unless someone has some mighty good suggestions. I would love to hear them, but please note how few people have even responded to my quarry about the thread to start with.

Still working on it and if it makes any sense.

And I am not a quitter. I am just questioning the obvious with this thread, IMHO. I always partake. Well, almost always.

The previous threads to this one had some good participation. If a topic isn't good enough to inspire participation, that doesn't mean the scavenger hunt should die... it means better topics should be chosen.

I am certainly not looking for an argument, but I've brought this topic up before. In fact, you took on the image at that time, but we still can't get more people to join and/or partake. i don't know if it has anything to do with people leaving when the site went down or what, but again, I feel that there are just too few people posting to make it interesting and to continue. If you want to post topic go for it. I certainly won't stop you. Maybe you've got a magic formula, which I would love to see. I hate it when things die on the vine.

I think a lot has to do with losing people when the site went down for so long and also the weather being so hot.
I would have liked to participated in the last three but do to my health and the weather it was almost impossable but I like to view everyones photos.
