[Networking] HN9000 and CG3000d together?

Is it possible to use a Netgear CG3000d, formerly used with Charter, together with a HN9000 to establish wireless home networking by plugging an ethernet cable going from HN9000 into a Cg3000d LAN port and out of another one of its LAN ports into a PC?

Can a CG3000d even be used without using the coaxial cable connection?

Well, my way of thinkin' is that WAN to LAN basically equals "router." And LAN to LAN basically equals "access point". I don't know the CTG3000d, but I'd be very surprised if it could be configured as an AP.
