Re: [Cataclysm] LFR/LFD nuttyness

When they went flying could they still watch? or did their screen fly off to some useless sight?

BTW after doing it the way the group I ws in did it I'm left wondering why my guild run had so much trouble, guess they were just fail.

When I attempted spine with my current guild to many people didn't stack on the spot and someone (the amalg tank) didn't recenter so we all went flying.

With the other group it was smooth sailing, everyone did their job and stacked and recentered properly, amalgs got DPS'ed low then built stacks fast and positioned and killed, then tendon died repeat a few times and collect loot.

BTW I was wondering how much does latency really effect DPS?
I've been at around 100ms lately, so I was thinking of switching back to IPv4 for wow, as the IPv6 tunnel seems like its a little unstable at times (ie I've been DC'ed from WOW but not vent) but major things like a DC are rare.

So how much does latency really effect DPS?
Also does anyone have the IPv6 addresses for the wow servers? I'd like to tracert them.

it affects DPS when it pushes back your GCD.

So around 500ms.

100ms will have no noticeable DPS difference.

that kind of precision is the result of progression raiding. They smashed face at it long enough to where people didn't need to be told (again) why the wipe happened... they rezzed, ate, buffed and restarted... time, and time, and time, again....

I'd rather hang out with friends and collect gear, mounts, and achievements that don't require me to beat up on the weaker kid.

Ya
Well it was my first time with that group and I did what they wanted me to do and they had a few other pugs (ie it wasn't a full guild run for them)

I just don't get why it takes others so long to get it and get to where they need to be.

Its like ok you want me to watch for firey grip, ok will do, I need to move to the spot where the coruption was, ok roger.

but people in my guild didn't even after 2-3 wipes people were still standing in the center when we were rolling.

then on madness, ok you want everyone to stack on the raid marker on the 4th platform and to go from the starting platform to the far left then over 1 then far right ok.

Everyone did what was asked and no one died.

Well ISP's haven't widely deployed it but via a tunnel broker I have my own /48

and Blizz has IPv6 addresses for some (if not by now all) servers

if you enable wow to use it then if your server can it'll use it, then if you hover over the computer icon in wow it'll show which you're using.

When I got back to wow a month ago I saw that my server had been made IPv6 enabled where as back in feb when I got on for a little I was still IPv4.

btw in feb I hoped on to try the 64bit client and was hoping the IPv6 was up, and did the scroll of rez to get the mount.

So I am using IPv6 but when using it my data is going out a IPv6 tunnel via hurricane electric and then to the Blizz servers, so if I switch back to IPv4 then it'd just go over comcast's path to the servers.

thus why I'm interested in tracert'ing the IPv6's to blizz's servers to see if I'm getting better routing somehow or if it'll be best to use IPv4 till comcast does its thing. (as far as wow goes) (still gonna use IPv6 for any site that is enabled.)

Did Fall last night for VPs to convert to Conq...53k dps was second to an Arms Warrior that probably had 10+ ilvls on me (I'm 389 in PVE gear). Not too shabby for no PVE action since March.

My sham's name is Drpoopstick, and I was running with my rl best friend on his DK, Drpoopsickle. Recently about 80% of my play time is with him running around terrorizing bads in BGs and trolling noobs in LFR. Well, my buddy won the 2H sword off Madness, next thing I know some Pally is pming me requesting the sword. I ignore him. He continues to spam me, now he is accusing me of hacking (he's realized I'm a Shaman). I drop group and load Orgrimmar. 2 minutes later I get a pm from Drpoopwtf, "wtf man, how u get that sword, #%^* hax! I'm reporting u!".

I reply, "report me, you non-reading fuck. Have fun explaining to the gm that you are illiterate."

/ignore, continue roasting in hell waiting on AC man to hook it up.

Long story short

LFR fall epic fail.
Noobs wouldn't stop DPS on amalg had to get a 2nd one on 1st plate.

More noob issues, they wouldn't stop AOE on 4th platform (wiped 5+ times)

Finaly everyone else left and I managed to get a healer friend to come in (ok he qued till he got the one I was in so he could help)

Jerks that had just joined tried (and failed) to kick me twice)

for several attempts wow froze on 3rd platform, I blame DBM it had over 100MB of data.

I only managed mid 50K dps (ilvl392), only food buff due to not wanting to waste a flask/pot on LFR.

Dagger dropped lost roll again (its one of only 3 items I want from LFR)

and they 5 healed it due to a DC Healer (though were about to anyway because of a very long wait on healers ie over 25min to fill 3 slots) then healer DC'ed right after it started.

so in all a totaly crap night.

on the upside my priese should ding 47 tommorrow just doing fishing/cooking dailies.

I've pulled ~75k on my sPriest back in the spring. Damn multi-dot haxxorz. Seen legendary sPriests over 100k.

It's possible to keep DoTs rolling on like 4+ targets for a majority of the fight, add in the NPC given buffs and double Blood Lusts and you get some stupid numbers.

I guess I should be putting living bomb on more things

other than that I don't really have any always ready dots, in reg I think I ws over 60k (after all in reg I double potted, flasked, and food buffed)

BTW one thing I was wondering but have been to lazy to look up, is the reason for no AOE on the 4th because the wing doesn't die fast enough because the aspect buffs have fallen off? or is that ability of the blisterings only on the 4th?

I'd assume that the first 3 just die fast enough that its ignorable but that the 4th DPS has lowered because the aspect's buffs aren't all there anymore (or are they I thought I looked and the buffs fell off as you did platforms)

I have (didn't you read the 2nd line?
Actually higher in 10man (a properly formed group with the correct raid buffs.)

You must be really pro then. My mage is 406 ilvl and I have never done that much and we always have every buff. Or maybe you all did the platforms differently.
