| Typos Verizon does have more then 10gb plan, when you goto select a plan, you get more choices, also up to 20gb. Verizon plans are
10gb - $100 12gb - $110 14gb - $120 16gb - $130 18gb - $140 20gb - $150
Also, the ATT share plan is for 15gb, not 16gb, for $160 |

 | Thanks, didn't realize that. Verizon's original announcement only went up to 10 GB. |

| reply to o2cool8 Interesting...didn't notice that VZW had the ability to add data above 10GB. But there it is on their website.
Granted, paying $10 per GB for your first $100 worth of data isn't a good deal. However $5 per GB beyond 10GB (okay, technically it's $5 per GB beyond 2GB, but the cost of a single gigabyte is ridiculous) isn't the worst thing that's come down the pike. |

you've got another mistake Both companies' plans are designed to prevent users from choosing less expensive voice and text options as voice and text become more popular -- jacking up the price of data and introducing new attachment fees to compensate for that lost revenue. I presume you meant to say "less popular"? |

Re: Typos That is very interesting about the Verizon data plans going up to 20GB.
I currently pay $90 for an individual unlimited talk and text plan with a $100 data plan that includes mobile hot spot at a special that was offered for double the data at the time. So I get 20GB plus an additional 2 GB for the hot spot feature.
With my employer discount on the data services of 20% ($100 for 22GB is reduced to $80), my bill before taxes comes to around $170.
$90 for unlimited talk and text $80 for 22GB data (after 20% discount) _____ $170
Now it seems that I could sign up for a shared plan with Verizon and pay $40 for the smart phone and $150 for the 20GB of data. If I can apply the same 20% discount to the shared data feature, that would bring the data price down to $120.
$40 for unlimited talk and text $120 for 20GB data (after 20% discount) ____ $160
When my current 2-year contract expires, I will look into the option of getting the 20GB shared plan for a single phone and perhaps save $240 over the length of the next 2-year contract.
20GB is my safe cap level to avoid overages, so at least I'll most likely have that option going forward with Verizon, AT&T, and possibly Sprint over LTE in my region.

 | Re: cant go over 20/30 GB Im sure you ( or anyone for that matter) can call in and have a plan custom made for them for 50-100GB if your really inclined to use that much data over cellular.. All you have to do in the words of Jerry Maguire is.... "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" |
