SB6120 Firmware Updated (7/19/12)

Click for full size
Click for full size
After a brief outage, I checked my 6120's config page.

There is a new tab called "Open Source" that just lists all of the open source libraries that the modem is using.

The firmware got updated to the following:
SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.6-SCM00-NOSH

Also I noticed this under configuration:
DOCSIS MIMO IPv4 Only
Modem's IP Mode IPv6 Only

Anyone else get this update yet?
If so, notice any other changes?

Re: SB6120 Firmware Updated

I've seen a couple of reports here at DSLR that this version is rolling out but I haven't seen it myself (Danbury, CT) yet.

I'm hoping it's going to lead to native IPV6 but I have no evidence to support that hope.

Maybe they are slowly rolling out to select areas. I am not sure of the pattern though. My friend in the next township over does not have this version yet.

It looks like a really good step to IPv6. Maybe this is that final "push".

I rebooted mine today and got it. Was wondering why my Send/Receive light were blinking after a reboot then it rebooted on it's own.

Re: SB6120 Firmware Updated

I was running IPv6 back in the beginning of June before the firmware rollout so I dunno if the two are related.

It makes me wonder how the choose their locations to roll it out.

You are literally what, 20 miles north of me?

Since the firmware upgrade I actually noticed a 2db drop in my downstream signal. Went from +7 to +5. Has to be a coincidence right ?

My upstream dropped (down to 29db), and downstream raised, lol.

Maybe just some tuning?

I had to reboot my SB6121 modem today, but it still shows the same old "SB612X-1.0.3.3-SCM00-NOSH" version here (Monmouth County, NJ) though.

I thought there was a good chance I would get the new firmware, as Mike Wolf, who is just south of me in the Toms River/Ocean County, NJ system, has said his modem got it.

Is the update anything to do with ipv6 deployment?

No, at least not it's main purpose (it does show a couple more IPv6 settings, as always controlled by the cofig file, nothing for the end user.
Just a more general update that shows the credits for open source components, and maybe fixes a few things( they've had almost 2 years)

Motorola doesn't release the changelogs to the public, unfortunately.
