Re: TSA: 0, Naked guy: 1

That's outrageous. But I am confused by the article. It says early in the article:

"TSA spokesman Luis Casanova would not comment on what chemicals were on the swabs but did say that touching the device is not supposed to happen."

Later in the article is this quote:

The TSA issued a statement Thursday that said:

"TSA's mission is to safely, efficiently and respectfully screen nearly 2 million passengers each day at airports nationwide. We are sensitive to the concerns of passengers and we invite those individuals to provide feedback to TSA through a variety of channels. In this specific incident, an investigation was initiated and it was determined that the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) followed standard operating procedures conducted in the presence of a Supervisor TSO. We take the professionalism of our workforce and the integrity of our security procedures very seriously and will address any alleged issues directly with the passenger."

So, first TSA says touching the tube is not permissible (much less swabbing it) then does an about face and claims it is ok?

If any of those chemicals got through the tubing she could be very sick and even die. This crap has got to stop!

Well you're talking about an agency that can, and does, pretty much do what it wants in the name of "security".

If you question them or object they'll take you to a back room and interrogate you (for hours probably). Of course you're not being detained but you can't go to your gate or go back to the concourse. If you try you'll be arrested (by the police not the TSA).

Don't ask questions. OBEY!

that would be kidnapping, you always have the right to leave the airport, the TSA agents are NOT police, they DON'T have any more powers than a private security team would have, other than what you sign to allow them to do, of course, which is part of the flight procedure.
