| reply to The Dv8or Players tend to do that at the end of their careers if they haven't won the championship. Obviously the Mariners aren't winning it within the next 2 years, so I can't fault Ichiro for wanting to try to win a World Series.
But yeah, to the evil empire... yuck... |

BTW he's still a damn good player. If I was 38 years old and wanted a ring before finishing my career going to the Big Apple is what I'd choose. That applies to any Sport, except basketball. |

His hitting declined quite a bit lately, althoygh even with that, he was still one of the better hitters in the team.
And his first game with the Evil Empire.... is at Safeco.
That simplified travel and the divorce.
Let's face it: a) the M's suck b) the M's really suck c) the M's realy-really suck, and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future, so it's better to let a veteran player go now than have him suffer through some more last place finishes.
He no longer has a chance to earn a ring with the M's, but I think it's a whole different ballgame with the Yankees. -- Wacky Races 2012! |

AZ_OGM join:2007-01-12 Phoenix, AZ | reply to The Dv8or I saw his first AB as a Yankee on TV. At least the fans were classy and gave him a proper ovation, Ichiro bowed to the crowd. It gave him a proper farewell to a team and city that admires him still.
But my first view of him in a Yankee uni make me do a double take thinking I was in a bizarro world. |
