What The Hell Is This Wire???

Just got my Rosewill Blackhawk Case in the mail (thank you Newegg)

Awesome case by the way. The manual included in the box is beyond shitty. I just have one question regarding the I/O panel wiring. I've identified all the wires so far, USB 2.0/3.0, Sata, Motherboard power, reset, led, etc.

But what the hell is this plug for? Only thing I can guess is that the I/O panel actually takes a power connection?

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture.

looks like the larger power connection for a fan.

It's not. It connects directly into the I/O panel. I traced all the fan wires, and that plug definitely isn't for a fan.

It's a power cable of some sort. It plugs into the PSU... What does the case manual say?

It says absolutely nothing about it.

It's about as vague as can be ragarding all the wiring. They spent more time on how to remove the HDD slots lol.

The top of the case has an HDD dock. So maybe the I/O panel takes power to supply to anything plugged into that spot?

I would also say it's a power connector for the front/top panel. You really only see that kind of pin connector for supplying power.

Is that an ESATA or SATA hot-swap dock on top? Probably power for it.

I agree with Blockfire. That is a 4 pin male power connector. There for you put your 4 pin female from your PSU to that male.

Since you said it is from the case. I could be number of use for it.. Power to some kind of front panel. Power to case fans. Power to LED lights. etc.

I also notice a dock on top of the case. Might be power to that too.

Front connectors. 2 of them is for the 2 fans. The 3rd one is for the dock up top.

Agree w/ Blockfire + Fizzy. I have seen those when hooking up my SATA/IDE to USB converter

I love how the pins always stay perfectly straight on those...

I love how the spec for the sata power connector specifies a 3.3v line but the older molex doesn't....

Are there any pre-installed front or top mount fans that do not have a plainly visible plug? If not, then the plug you're looking at could be for a fan.

If all the fan plugs are accounted for then the only other possibility I can think of would be to power the eSATA dock.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I'm going with power plug so that's what it's getting hooked up to.

Haha, I missed your edit with this video post. Thank god Newegg had a video review up for this case.

I literally searched everywhere on the internet and couldn't find any info. So thanks for the post!
