[Wireless] [ Linksys Wireless WAP54G + Wired BESF41 ]
Hi, I have a strange but weird problem, up until now with a few weeks I have been having a problem on my wireless side. I have 2 systems. 1 Laptop and 1 PC connected to my wireless G network 54Mbps.
Single strengths are excellent, both systems have latest firmwares, all systems are running Windows 7, and Windows XP.
AP is configured as a AP only. SSID is disabled, G only, WPA security.
I am on AT&T DSL, 6mbit/768kbps. I made no changes, and my upload speeds are find, however my download speeds went from 3mbit down to about 200kbps a second, not even 1-1.5mbits at all.
QoS is disabled and channel 11 is what I am using as others in the WiFi world are using 1, 6, and 9.
Both systems are close to the AP, no more then a few feet, no other wireless devices or anything that would interfere with singles or speeds. Again the single strength is excellent, and no noise.
I have disable both firewalls, and tried different settings on my AP and different channels, and has little to no effect at all what I do to them.
3 nights ago I was getting 3mbits which I was quite happy with. I thought maybe it could have been a bad NIC but both systems are doing it.
Again uploading is not a problem, only downloading,
Any ideas guys? Thanks
Oh BTW all my wired devices work excellent, 5mbits.

Have you checked to see what channels your neighbors are on?
I had issues here with neighbors changing channels frequently...
I eventually went to 5Ghz and left them in the dust, stepping on each other on 2Ghz..
I check the channels now and then to see who's where.... and usually see one new one...
Could it be interference from a neighbor on same chanel??
I just checked.... of the 12 I can receive.. there are presently 3 on channel 1, and 3 on channel 6, all with 60 or higher SS.
I've seen as high as 8 on one channel before... I can't believe they are all moving around as much as they do....
