| Equipment failure in Houston July 24th Yesterday my Covad/Megapath DSL line was down until about 6pm CDT. This line is my backup IP connectivity, with Comcast Business Class cable as the primary.
Covad support told me that they had an equipment failure in the CO, and that AT&T was going to need to address that situation.
The odd part was that my modem showed DSL carrier present, but the PPPoE login was failing.

kudos:18 | It could be the AC failed. The line card in the DSLAM will still give you ATM/ADSL sync, but the AC, if down or defective, will not authenticate your PPP session. Therefore you will not get out to the Net since you are not getting an IP assigned to your Modem or Router from the AC. Typically called Sync, no surf/no IP.
