 | Sprint new data meter very broken... Hi guys,
This month Sprint started limiting hot spot users to 5 gigs a month. Well, I noticed something strange. Any and all data usage you use while the hot spot is turned on is being billed towards your 5gig quota on the hotspot.
I use my phone as a modem at work while I drive around. I use a laptop to connect to a telnet application, very little data usage. On the handset I stream Pandora. Well, Pandora usage on the handset is being billed towards the hotspot.
Tested this by turning on the hotspot, then downloading a 100 meg file on my cell phone. Waited an hour....sure enough damn thing used 100 megs of the hotspot quota.
Anyone else experiencing this? |

The way sprint meters tethered connections is to create a different data profile for tethering. Most phones can only do one type of connection, so any data when the hotspot is on is metered as tethered data. -- --Standard disclaimers apply.-- |
