 | [Cable] Questions about switching (from Shaw) Hi people,
I'm wanting to drop the bundling that Shaw currently imposes, as I find I never really use the TV, and haven't used the phone more than once since getting it. I figured the best way would be to just switch. I'm not unhappy with Shaw.
I checked Telus's Optik (or rather I was cold-called by Telus once and then told they can't provide service to this apartment when they then tried to check availablity.) So it looks like DSL is not available period.
So here's my questions: 1. I was originally given a SB5100 (Docsis 2.0) on 25 service, later switched to SMCD3GN (Docsis 3.0) for 50Mbit service, are either of these usable for 25Mbit service? (I'm not even sure if I "own" the SMC modem.)
2. Shaw is planning on destandardizing (whatever that means) the 25Mbit TPIA service ( »www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2012/2012-298.pdf ) if/when this happens... well what happens? Will Teksavvy offer the other tiers that shaw currently lists? (10/0.5 20/0.5 50/3 100/5 and 250/15, this is listed on page 18 CRTC 26300)
3. Is IPv6 available on Teksavvy over Shaw in any shape or form? |
