Re: So what did you do yesterday? Today I got my Cooler Master Hyper 212+.
It's the absolute shit. My Athlon II x2 245 Regor is overclocked from 2.9 to 3.65 GHz. Prior to the CM212+, I was idling at 41c, now I idle at 25c; I was seeing temps just below or at 70c under full load, now those temps are under 40c...it's the best 20 bucks I've ever spent on a computer.
With overclocking my computer and tweaking my graphics settings in game, I've doubled my FPS while not sacrificing any graphics quality.
Next step is to get a beefier PSU and a shiny new graphics card...thinking either GTX 560 or Radeon HD 6870. New CPU will be coming in the next couple months.

kudos:1 | I had that cooler for my Corei7. I upgraded to a closed loop system and saw my temps drop another 20 degrees.
Last week I just bought a XFX 6870 2GB card. I run everything on high with 8x AA.
I recommend a closed loop CPU water cooler for sure. Make things nice and quiet and cool. |
