 | Help Me Find 6V Car That Sits 8 Passengers I need a normal vehicle that can sit 8 passengers with seatbelts, preferably models between 1999 to 2006. Any ideas if one exists? |
|
 | Toyota Sienna. Think there is an 8 passenger volvo also for a car. |

|
 | I'll go for a Sienna but NEVER in my life would I buy or get involved with a Volvo.
Here's the reason why I detest Volvos:

Hate to break it to you, but the same could happen to most any car.
Now what do you define as a 'normal vehicle'? Passenger car? SUV? Crossover? Minivan? Station wagon? |

I think most minivans are 7 passenger arent they? since its 2 front, 2 mid, 3 rear? -- [65 Arcanist]Filan(High Elf) Zone: Broadband Reports |

Re: Help Me Find 6V Car That Sits 8 Passengers If you want to seat 8 comfortably you need a real passenger van -- the kind without the word "mini" in front of it. This is the Ford E-series (aka Econoline) and the Chevy Astro / GMC Safari. Both were available with a v6, with Ford offering a v8 and even a v10 or diesel in the E350 trim. -- John M - Cranky network guy |

I would clarify "passenger" to "mostly kids" as well. We have an '05 Honda Odyssey that technically can seat (8): 2-front, 3-middle*, 3-rear.
* The middle involves a "jump seat" that we have stored in the garage 95% of the time we've owned the van. It's probably 12" wide. As it is, with a car seat in one of the middle-row seats, bucket-style, it's pretty much non-usable.
For the rear, it's a bench seat that's split 1/3 and 2/3. Whoever sits in the middle had better be skinny. |

 | reply to Xstar_Lumini Yes sirs my passengers are kids, Im involved in shuttling soccer kiddwith their moms, I have 3 kids myself so you know now why I want 8 passenger seating. The Ford Econoline is out of the question because it's like 7 ft high and I cannot park it in my underground garage. The GMC Safari is lovely but here in Canada they are as rare as a Starbuck's in Somalia
I'll take a look at the Honda Odyssey though! Thanks guys! |

The Chevy Astro and the GMC Safari are the same vehicle, in case Astros are more common. |

Re: Help Me Find 6V Car That Sits 8 Passengers Looks like the Astro / Safari ended in 2005: »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Astro
From my school IT dept. days I've got thousands of miles of seat time in Ford E-series in both v6 and v8 trim. They may look plain but they never let us down. They cruised the interstates for hours on end and the ACs held up in slow afternoon city traffic too. Even as the odometers crept past the 150k mark they were good solid transportation.
In all honesty I couldn't tell much difference between the two engines and I'm a horsepower guy. In our fleet the v6's happened to have better radios and captain's chairs so they were my usual choice.
Part of me always wanted to get a diesel model (usually a bare cargo configuration) and convert it to passenger trim. That would truly be a do-it-all vehicle. -- John M - Cranky network guy |

It's like people who buy a pickup truck in case their neighbor needs to move furniture or a refrigerator. Better to not have the pickup truck and let someone else do all that work! |
