Re: [Serious] Sleep Apnea

I keep getting the basic mask, respronics classic and the gel thing for the forehead always falls off. The masks are $200 and to replace the gel thing is $12. You would think that they would make it so it doesn't fall off but nooooooooo.

They tried to get me to buy a better brand but that was way too much money. I think it was like $450+

You can get the masks a lot cheaper in the USA. I'm very happy with my ResMed Swift II. It could very well be that what they were saying is that your mask was leaking, probably due to an improper fit. Nevertheless, if you have not had a checkup with your sleep doctor for a while, book an appointment, and bring your equipment in with you, they can test it and give you some advice on what to do. Perhaps they can do a sleep study with you using your equipment.

I have the same mask. It does have a small fit problem if you have facial hair. I find it slightly annoying but not a game stopper.

Or better, take it back to the place where you purchased it and ask the respiratory technologist for assistance. Mine does it for free, at any time. My sleep specialist does not have anything to do with machines and adjustment.
