[CFL] [TV] Brighthouse HD DVR Woes

I switched to Brighthouse about 2.5 years ago after moving to my current place. Unfortunately, it lacks the needed line of sight for my Dish to function properly. (The only other option being switching to CenturyLink's PRISM IPTV service.) Since then, I've had mostly non-stop issues with their HD DVRs.

In the first few months of services, I went through quite a few Scientific-Atlanta boxes. They were slow, crash prone, buggy, and tended to not record the things my family programmed it to record.

After a few boxes, we ended up with our first Samsung 3090. This box was MUCH faster, MUCH more stable, rarely crashed, and seemed to not miss recordings.
Unfortunately, this box started acting strange, giving me issues with the picture and completely not recording on random days (as in some days it recorded NOTHING.)
I replaced that box with a second Samsung 3090. This one has been great for almost 2 years now. (With the exception of the small hard drive in it, the box was a dream come true.)
Unfortunately, this box is now starting to act up as well. It is starting to miss recordings, it is recording random things and labeling the random items with names of TV shows I have set it to record (this might be an issue with Brighthouse's guide), and, again, the 160GB hard drive is pretty paltry.

/rant

I do NOT want to replace this with anything BUT a Samsung box. (I'll switch to PRISM before I do that.)

Is the 3272 model any good?
Has anyone had any issues with it recording the wrong shows?
Has anyone had any issues with it NOT recording scheduled shows?
Has anyone had it crash?
Is the interface laggy?
How's the storage space on it?

If the 3272 is a good box, is there any way to guarantee that I get that box when I go to the "local" Brighthouse location? Last time I went in to trade the first 3090 for the second 3090, they wanted to give me a Scientific-Atlanta. I almost walked away from Brighthouse that day. Luckily, I was able to argue my way into a second Samsung box.

EDIT: Also, is the Cisco 8742HDC any good? Have they really fixed the mess that Scientific Atlanta was?

There is no way to promise that you will get the same model box if you go to a lobby.

Is the only other option to pay for a support tech to bring me one?

To clarify you might not get a Cisco 8742 however. I said a Cisco but that model is actually a MOCA box and I don't specify that box out of package UNLESS there is a technical reason behind it.
