[Rant] Thrift stores and over priced items near retail new price

I went to a salvation army thrift store this particular location was charging 2.5x to 4x times the price of it's other locations. The funny thing is I saw one of those cheap speakers that have fake MSRP's it said on there 1999.99 MSRP near the bar code and they had it on sale for a cool $550

I saw some old crt sets, they had for between $75 and $100

Thirft stores have become hipster stores. So in certain locations that are near richer areas they overprice their items to get more money.

If you go to a ghetto area thrift store then you will find the cheap prices as their customers are the ones that need lower priced items to live.

It's a Goodwill. Only in California.

Caveat emptor. I'd put this in the same category as assuming that you will always get the best bargain on eBay.

There's no better place to buy "ironic" t-shirts and "vintage" kirkland jeans.

Factor in all costs and you're paying retail on ebay!
