[D3] How would you fix it?

I believe many would agree that D3 is broken in some way or another. My question to everyone is simple: how would you fix it? I won't repeat entire posts from other threads, but the #1 thing I think Blizzard needs to do is remove to crafting cost for BS. So how would you fix this game?

I am stating my opinion. Obviously you don't like it. Honestly, I don't care.

Let's see:

1. Graphical updates? You can say what you want about the art, but graphically the game is far behind the times.

2. Story. For all of the time in development, the story really isn't complexed or nuanced, and it's extremely linear. Characters seem 2 dimensional and not well developed.

3. Lack of content. It's the exact same content over and over, with different loot and different monster abilities. Harder is not unique.

Given these things, I don't see how you fix it. It's just fundamentally flawed. Hopefully they will do better with their next original IP (Titan).

I dont believe there is a way to fix it for me personally. In the end I tend to power game/grind through stuff and get bored easy so the only way to keep me interested is to have someone pushing out new content/experiences asap.

I will eventually play it off and on but there just isnt any motivation to keep me on it even once a week anymore. I say enjoy what you can when you can for how long you can.

Not to dismiss your issues, but they seem more with the franchise than with the enjoyment factor of the game. D2 was pretty much the same thing, but was fun and I would gladly sacrifice the same things should they make the game actually fun beyond lvl 60. What would make the game more fun for you?

I think they need a level 60 customization. You keep earning experience at 60 but you level up abilities.

It would be nice to have the ability to reforge item stats from one thing to another like WoW.

They should remove some combo's of elites so that they can't spawn.

Possibly make items BoE/BoA to increase the AH.

Remove crafting recipes as dropped loot. Instead have a recipe vendor where people can buy them for gold.

Adding new content is always a good option.

For me I need something that I can grind to make measurable improvements, not just based on luck. In WOW I can run heroics to earn VP to buy gear, but here I just have to get lucky. Which sucks.

Maybe D3 can have vendors that actually sell good gear (but not the best) so people can at least progress and have a bottom base line for gear. Or they can fix BS so it's a lot less random and costly, maybe you can pick the mods that you want or pay to improve an item (upto a certain level). I don't mind BiS items being random, but at least give visible goals that I can work for.

D3 is basically a retread of D2

love it or leave it... it is what it is

it was fun for a bit, with GW2/MoP on the horizon D3 is just too one dimensional

Yet for some reason I found D2 a lot more engaging. You don't need uber gear to make progress. I could finish the game on just what I found. I also didn't need to repeat the same story 4x to reach max level...

But yar I'm just waiting for MOP...

I don't feel like D3 inferno grinding has anything to do with a skill level, it's all about the iLVL of your gear and that gear have a specific set of attributes. If there was some way that skill > loot, then I could play but this is not the case. Ca$h is king

I didn't play D2 at all, so I can't really comment about the differences, but for me, the main issue is with the AH and difficulty. The relative ease of obtaining "decent" beginning gear from the AH mean there's very little to no chance of finding your own gear from "adventuring", as almost everything you'll find is significantly worse than even the cheapest gear on the AH. The problem is that finding an upgrade while playing most games of this sort is a nice reward. Finding 100 items, 99 of which you can't use or sell on the AH, and 1 of which you may get 20k gold for, after which you have to repeat the same process ten times in order to maybe afford to buy an upgrade from the AH, is not as fun.

At the same time, because of the difficulty of Inferno (Act II forward), you can't really just ignore the AH or you'd never progress. I'm really not sure of a good way to fix this from the point the game is at now.

99 of 100 items are crap due to specific requirements on gear in order to be considered usable. If Blizz made the difficulty more skill based than gear, we could possibly see more viable builds, but as it stands, missing 2 affixes on an items= crap. The game feels like playing the lottery to win enough to buy something, at some point you say f*ck it and just buy the item yourself because the ticket either says you win (1 out of 100) or you lose. there aren't any 5, 10 20 dollar "you got close" tickets.

the game is broken and its beyond being "fixed" just have fun doing alts or whatever you like thats fun. When the game makes it harder, poor drops, and patches in where it makes you pay more for repairs then you earn, its just a bad, terrible game.

I love a good challenge, but when im punished for dying to even try to play, its not "FUN"

I have an idea that Blizzard upped the cost for repairs to get players to use the RMAH so they can milk the players for more money. forcing us to buy gear or gold to play the last act.

I was a long time fan of Blizzard, but after this game, but not any longer

Remove AH and RMAH (I know this is a huge blow but follow me here) change it to a barter system with a join screen where you can see games hosted and choose which one to join for trading items and or joining groups for farm runs
Change loot drops in A4 to only drop level 62-63 items but increase the difficulty to reward players and change loot drops for each act to punish lower dififculty farming
Change the way we farm by having boss's drop the greatest loot and make them way more challanging to reward players
Change the Blue/Yellow mobs loot drops to lower quality with small chance of somthing good droping to push players into boss farming like it D2
