Verizon DSL → [connectivity] Connection dropping

I have had Verizon DSL for many years now and it has been rock-solid. However, in the last few weeks my connection has been dropping for about one minute two to three times daily, then restores itself.

Anyone else having this problem? I live in the Johnstown, Pa southwestern area of the state.

When the drops occur do you know if your DSL light is going out? Normally drops that long are due to a loss of sync. I have seen some times however where a 1-2 minute outage can be due to some problem further upstream in the network, but those seem to happen mainly during Verizon's maintenance window.

yes - the internet light on the basic westfall modem is going out(light on the furthest right).

I'm having a lot of problems with it to. Posted about it in the Verizon Direct forum 48 hours ago.

Pretty sure the picture is the culprit.

Good chance it could be since it looks like there's some corrosion on that copper. That will cause some noise for sure.
